Bug Like An Angel - Mitski
Hello everypony \^w^/!!! first review :3 bug like an angel by mitski ‼‼
re-written sometime around the end of april 2025
Mitski has some of my all time favourite singing, it is truly peak in
all that i look for in that vocal range, it bares mitskis soul and perfectly
encapsulates her feelings *o*~♪. shes ends her notes descending down, finishing her
lines they quietly fade into a deeper range blending into an almost sorrowful regret :3 .
Her emotions come out from the unfeeling void filled with all the love that she once held
in her being but she could never imagine directing to herself ;3 .
As the music swells with her and the choir joins it feels like a prayer to nobody,
all her energy directed to a space only she sees )^o^)/\. mitskis vocal range truly encapsulates
the sadness i once asscioated with my existence, she melds herself into a reflection of pain cast onto the
listener :)) .
The worbling resonance of the slow acoustic guitar leaves space for thought in the vibration ☼♠☼_-~♪.
the piano echos this and with it a deep vibrating tone as it leaves the song, allowing for the
guitar to continue along its course a final addtion brings mitskis vocals into the spotlight !!
it shares a similar strumming pattern to other songs off this album, at its base level
( mainly meant about "I'm Your Man" just a gradual climb i suppose :3 ) but distinguishes
itself through its accentuation of guitar chords with its less prominent instruments, it really helps
build the emotional peak of the song ^^ !! overall when its all brought together it feels like a
reflection of very human patterns, and allows for a brief acknowledgement of self and behaviour
in the silence brought after the peaks ^o^.•-=- .
it somehow really captures the feeling of being so drunk your physical form doesnt matter @w@, where your just a mess of vibrating atoms and can be rag dolled around your enviroment without thought (tbf im used to also being high :3 which is alot more vibrating atoms and feelings of floating freedom ^^ .) That is a state that really frees the mind from expectation and to some degree anixety, especially as someone who suffers from dysphoria and dysmorphia in my being. it creates a swelling feeling of confidence and a physical lack of competence so i become a bit more able to exist in ignorance of social expectation and my brain in general ~@w@~ !! it also reminds me of being in situations i dont want to be in but have no choice about, something that breaks my boundaries but that i once never thought was reasonable :3. mitski is definitely an artist i find comfort in during my most depressive states, a deep reflection of spirals and self \ (○//w//○( /. she really wrings my heart, i think depending on my mood its beautiful enough to listen too without instantly making me sad (very rare) :3
